Website News

Websites are a very important tool to have for your business. Its basically your first impression!  Have you noticed whenever someone speaks of their business  ... someone always asks "Really  ... do you have a website so I can look you up?" Hmmm  ... so how would you feel if you did not have one?  Saying "No" or "Not at the moment" or "Its in production now and will launch soon"  ... to the other person sounds like "I'm not ready yet".  You can have the intention to get one up  ... but the perception of the other person you are speaking to is really what your focus should be on. We live in a microwave society (we want everything in seconds to an instant  ... or at least have access to the information).

Building a website is not an easy task and takes time to plan out what exactly you want to present on your site. In my own opinion I think the biggest mistake you can make in regards to a website  ... is to not have one. So you ask "Well what would you suggest I do if I don't have the time or the funds to hire a professional or any clue as to what should be on my website?". Im so glad you asked.  Create a one page webpage. When people are looking for you online they are just looking to answer their curiosity of "Who, what, when, where, why" about you or your business. Creating one webpage allows you to answer these questions.

Think of your webpage as your virtual bio. Really simple. Add your logo, company name, contact information, vision/mission statement,  and describe your services or products. If you have any news or articles that are in conjunction with your business add those as well.  You can even include thoughts/words/referrals from supporting family, friends or current / past coworkers speaking to your personality and reputation.

At the bottom of the page write text or add an image graphic that says "Coming Soon".   This not only satisfies the viewers curiosity of "Who, what, when, where, why"  but also builds a buzz. Viewers will likely return back to your site more then once to see all the new updates. Therefore creating traffic to your website once you are ready. Creating this one webpage allows you the time to build up additional pages and details to your website.

There are so many websites that provide 'how to' and templates to help you create a website.  The most popular are wix.com, wordpress.com and godaddy.com

Keep in mind  ... websites are always changing. Theres no need to have it all together upfront. So slowly build on your webpage....adding new pages of information as you go. Next thing you'll know you will have a full website.  Never think you need to have all the content and plans laid out before creating your site. You will be missing out. Start with what you already do know  ... and add from there.

I myself have changed my website 4 times in just 7 months. Edits and updates are good and are in unlimited supply. Shows you've grown in knowledge and know better how you want to present your company.

I just recently updated my company website .... take a look!
