confidence
[kon-fi-duhns]

noun

1.

The words VITAL and IMPORTANT immediately come to mind.  In order to run a successful business you MUST MUST MUST have confidence in yourself, your product/service and the demand for it.  How else will you secure clientele.  Confidence is easily seen through body language, posture, speech, attitude and mood.  All which are effected by your thoughts.  When you walk into a room with condifence ... you are noticed, watched, and approached.  You're basically invisible when you walk in with no confidence/shyness. Ever wonder why the class clown got the most attention in school (other then the funny or not so funny jokes).  Simply because they spoke jokes with confidence, energy, and without the worry of what another thought of them.  In our industry you just simply have to have thick skin.  You won't book every bride, not every bride will have a fabulous review, bridezillas do exist, bride/groom FAMILY (need I say more).  Confidence is one of the MAJOR ingredients to a sucessful entrepreneurship. So instead focusing on only admiring others and where they are in their business and comparing your status to theirs ... try LOVING you and who you are and where you currently stand.  Keep in mind..the one you admire was once admiring someone else too.  You never know...someone may be admiring you right where you are.  So have confidence in everything you do and in every step along the way!

I want to highlight IPA's (Income Producing Activites).  These little actions are things you do that are steps to completing a project that will produce some form of monetary gain.  Check out this article I read below:

What Counts As Income Producing Activities
(http://smallbizsurvival.com/2010/12/what-counts-as-income-producing.html)

Income Producing Activities are those actions that move you towards your business and income goals. So why don’t we spend our time working on exactly those things?

We Get Distracted

Well, there are as many reasons as there are minutes in the day to get distracted. And, well, we have so many options. What shall I work on this second? Shall I jump into a chat on Twitter? Should I write a blog post? Or should I finish that client item first? Or catch up on my accounting? Or ….

What we should do is focus: carve one stroke at a time.

Focus on your Income Producing Activities. Sounds easy. What are those IPA’s? Well, unfortunately, we each have our own, because we have our own goals.

Start With Your Goals
It starts with your goals. If you’re smart enough to figure out what you are trying to accomplish this year, this quarter or this month, you can figure out what you need to do regularly to get there.

IPA Examples:
What might be an IPA for a freelancer?

  • Working on a client project
  • Signing a new client
  • Sending out a guest post to another site
  • Blogging on your own site
  • Answering Q&A on social networks like LinkedIn

Customize these for your own business. Use the self promotion actions that work for you. You can customize it further by assigning a high point value to billable work, and a low point value to stuff you like to do anyway. Client work = 10, Blogging on your own site = 5, for example. (Tweeting = 0 is probably a good rule for Twitter-addicts, like me.)

Apply Daily:
Now that you a list of potential IPA’s, the key is to use them. Give yourself a daily goal:

  • A certain number of activities per day, or
  • A total point value per day, if you’ve assigned points.

Review and Adjust
It will take some time to make this fit your work style and your goals. Adjust the actions, the daily target, the points values. Find a level that challenges you to improve, but rewards you for doing what you know you should.

Celebrate your successes. Part of what makes this work is the reward you feel when you take action on your goals.

Are you waiting for opportunity to knock?
by Mark Hendricks

Are you waiting for opportunity to knock?
You see, opportunity does not knock; it is you that does the knocking.
You are the opportunity.
You create opportunity.
You develop talents to acquire opportunity.
You turn negatives into positives as part of your opportunity.
How?  Well, it comes from your own self-esteem and determinationto live a successful and fulfilled life.  It’s up to you to moveaway from past bad experiences and continually be on the lookoutfor opportunities that need your talents.
You learn to explore, invent, originate, and adapt as you liveyour life to the fullest.  You explore, you invent, you originate, and you adapt.
Now you may ask, “Who gives you the right to do this?”
Well, you do, of course.
You see, opportunity is not just for other people; it’s foryou, too.  And it’s yours for the taking.
Have you ever heard a speaker say, “I’d like to take thisopportunity to…”?  Well, there’s a good lesson there for youtoo, also to take this opportunity every time you can.
All types of people with disadvantages, disabilities, and limitationshave become successful by seeking their opportunities in life.  Theydidn’t just give up.  They overcame these situations and rose tothe opportunities they found for their lives.
One of the things that I think we do sometimes is we shut the doorto our own opportunities.  Maybe you see an opportunity and beginworking on it only to discover that achieving it will take moretime, money, energy, and persistence than you hoped for.
You see, that’s instant gratification wishes at work here.
And then you give up.
By doing so, sadly, you’ve shut the door on your own opportunity.
This is an excerpt from just one of the lessons in theUltimate Success Program.
When you’re ready, I invite you to join the thousandswho have applied these life lessons that I’ve put togetherinto a step-by-step success program.
There’s one recurring theme through all of the lessons, and that is to take action on each and every step. Ifyou don’t do that, nothing will happen for you.
The law of cause and effect is real, you must be the cause (the action) to get the desired effect (your dreams and goals).

On October 17th, 2013 I was released from my stability, guaranteed check, working for someone else position in real estate leasing.  To most, losing your job can literally be BAD news. But my God had other plans for me. Its almost as if he kicked me out because I didn't walk out on faith earlier. I find myself now with less stress, more smiles, more relationship strengths with my daughters, peace, FUN, and also pure laziness at times because it is allowed (I took a nap in the middle of the day the following day and days after ... just because I knew I could).  The flexibility working for yourself gives is immeasurable in its benefits.

I truly love my business. Not only is it my passion ... it fulfills a void I've always had to make a difference in a day to someone. My goal is to keep LOVE in the forefront of their mind while on the journey to their 'I do' vows.  To strengthen and prepare them for their first day of marriage. Now that I have 24/7 available, I can really restructure my business to fit the EXACT vision model I have in mind.

What joy (s) have you been experiencing as an Entreprenuer??
